Layer 2.0

Different Typologies and styles characterize the typical street in Tel Aviv:

The International Style from the 1940s, the eclectic style, 1960s public housing ,and Jaffa’s Arab houses.

In contrast to the difference in style and spirit of buildings in the typical street of Tel Aviv, we can notice one common feature which can be easily missed, because it is perceived as a temporary process - a scaffolding-wrapped building and fabric of varying color, hidden from our eyes for a limited time. The process that the city of Tel Aviv is going through increases the pace of construction and brings many urban changes alongside it. Hence, a new building is revealed, in size, shape, texture and its implications for the residents and the public space.

Thus, almost unnoticed, a new building style has been forged in the city of Tel Aviv, an "under construction" style, profoundly affecting the urban landscape as did the Bauhaus building style and may

even more.

‘Bialik 25’ is an urban and innovative project which utilizes motives from the world of construction, marking its ground as a new building style that blends in with the existing urban landscape.

The purpose of “Layer 2.0” is to create harmony between the new and the old by using motives and features from the world of construction such as scaffolding and fabric ,aiming for a modular building, efficient in energy use, promoting mixed-use and open public areas.
